Samuel Gumbs Funeral Directors Ltd are an independent company. Our objective is to provide a consistent professional and personal service for bereaved families. We are here to help and guide families throughout the grieving period by assisting with organising the funerals of their loved ones by providing a consistent high level of competent service throughout the process and beyond.

After speaking with a few other funeral services providers , I was delighted when I spoke to Ann, who had a different approach to the other providers. I felt a sense of comfort during our first conversation and I knew this was the service provider that my family were going to use. Samuel Gumbs is a service provider with its heart on its sleeve. The extra personal care received which included 24hrs a day, 7 days a week contact availability where Ann happily answered the plethora of question we had, which made the whole provider, client process from beginning to end outstanding. My father unexpectedly passed away recently. What made matters worse in my grieving process and trying to plan his funeral is that he lived and died in London and my family and I live overseas in the United States.

From the moment I contacted Ann with Samuel Gumbs and with the difficulty of me being overseas and not knowing the first thing to do, Ann took the stress off of me and guided me through the whole funeral planning process. With the 5-hour time difference from where I live in the United States and London, Ann even promptly responded to what would be very late night communications on her end to meet my needs!

Ann was committed to ensuring our requests to honour our beloved Mother was evident via her protective nature to honour our need to honour our beloved mother’s memory through her attention to personal details such as incorporating our Mother's favourite colour throughout the service, providing a beautiful keepsake poem and effectively managing the time schedule. All of which contributed greatly to allowing our beloved Mother’s Homegoing to be a a dignified celebration of her life.
Thank You is not a strong enough expression of gratitude for the loving support and guidance Ann of Samuel Gumbs provided during the most difficultly heart wrenching breath taking experience of our life. Ann was the calm in the storm and the anchor that provided stability. For this and much more we extend much loving appreciation.
